Prioritizing self-care

Embracing mature years  with grace and vitality

It is not about fighting time. It is about embracing the changes with my body, mind, and spirit. As I get older, I have  noticed my limit. I am not as energetic and youthful as I used to be.  I listen to my body and act accordingly.  I fully engage in the present. I don’t let these challenges define me. Authentic self-care  is  to nurture my body, mind, and spirit. I  walk with  my own  pace. I listen to what my body needs. I eat food that nourishes my brain and body. I get the rest I need. I relax and enjoy simple pleasure.  Self-care is my priority. I start my day by praying/meditating and playing, hydrate and stretching. Then, I pull out my to-do list and enjoy what I really need to accomplish today. If I don’t get through all of them, there’s always tomorrow. I am enjoying life at the moment.

Authentic self-care is not about looking younger or better.  I am  talking about prioritizing conscientious self care by making thoughtful  choices that I value myself. I have accepted the years I’ve lived my life in a good way, but there’s always something to embrace, my authentic self-care.
